Eye Disease

Eyes are an important organ in both dogs and cats. Having bright eyes means good health. Don't neglect them. If you notice any abnormalities with your eyes, consult a veterinarian immediately.

symptom
1. There is eye mucus, eye pain, redness, or abnormal whiteness.
2. Decreased vision
3. There is a foreign object or lump in the eye.
4. Pets aged approximately 6 months - 1 year: Check for any breed-specific diseases.
5. Cats and small dogs aged 7 years and over.
6. Large breed dogs 5 years and older

Treatment guidelines

1. Take a history of your pet.
2. Use a light to examine the outside of the eye, such as the eyelashes, conjunctiva, cornea, and anterior chamber.
3. Measure tears to determine the initial amount of tears. Tear test.
4. Stain the eyes to look for corneal ulcers.
5. Look for dry eye conditions, look at the tear ducts first.
6. Measure intraocular pressure to check for glaucoma.
7. Dilate the pupil to view the lens and retina.
